After dealing with potential pool table buyers all over the United States we see three types of pool table buyers. We wanted to break down each type of buyer and list our advice on the actions each one should take in searching for a pool table. This makes your $500.00 pool table cost $750.00 to $1,000.00. If you need felt replaced on the pool table you are looking at more money. If you are looking for a $500.00 pool table more than 100 miles away from you don't even try to factor in shipping charges, you should be looking local. You should always figure this cost into the purchase. There are three places to find your pool table:

1) Your local classifieds section of the newspaper - If you are able to find a pool table in your price range, it needs to be purchased as quickly as possible and you should know something about quality and what you need before putting the money out. These pool tables sell the fastest!

2) Our website classifieds section occasionally has pool tables listed in this price range.

3) Sometimes you can find local pool table companies selling something very cheap, we can refer you to a pool table company near you.

Type II - I want a nice pool table for my home

This pool table buyer has many more options to excercise and will definitely find the pool table that suits their needs if they have patience. This pool table buyer is willing to spend $700.00 to $2,000.00. This price range supports not only the purchase of a pool table but it also handles the cost of having a pool table company move the table in and most likely will handle the cost of new pool table felt. There are several areas you can look for these pool tables.

1) You may be able to find your pool table in our classified section online in your state.

2) The local newspaper classified section. There are always pool tables in this price range near the major cities.

3) Local pool table company locations.

4) Local pool table company showrooms. You would be surprised that you may be able to find a brand new pool table for around $2,500.00.

By no means do we think this advise is the only advise you should consider but it's the most common, and should be used for a starting point only. Type III - I'm looking for a tournament quality table for my home

These are the pool table buyers that are looking for the elusive Brunswick Gold Crown. They take their game very seriously and want the best table they can find for the cheapest amount of money. The law of supply and demand really kicks them all over the map. They will call every state in the union that they find a gold crown listed in and see how much the shipping is. This pool table buyer wants to spend somewhere on average of $4,000.00 for a used pool table but this pool table is really worth it if they can find it close to their area. The only places to find this pool table used is from a local pool table company who might have one of the gems hidden in their back room or on our classifieds section of the website. You can occasionally find them in the newspaper but that's tough. There are definitely more buyers of this pool table than sellers.

We have found that new tables of this quality sell anywhere from $6,000.00 to $8,000.00 from a Brunswick dealer. (note the LARGE price spread) If you are looking for this pool table we suggest you try during the winter when the dealers are selling tables and not trying to have you pay their entire months rent becuase they are having a tough summer selling swimming pools. These tables are also going to cost a minimum of $400.00 to install by a pool table company.
